Amazon rents 20,000 m² in DEMIRE's LogistikPark Leipzig

- Amazon assembles new warehouse and distribution centre

- Construction being built on the open space of the DEMIRE area

Langen / Leipzig, 23 June 2020. DEMIRE Deutsche Mittelstand Real Estate AG (ISIN: DE000A0XFSF0) has leased 20,000 m² of rental space in the LogistikPark Leipzig to the online retailer Amazon. Amazon will assemble a Modular Delivery Station and use it as a storage and distribution centre. The rented space is a previously unused open space on the LogistikPark site. The resulting structure is designed for 365 days a year operation. The online retailer also rents 100 parking spaces.

DEMIRE Deutsche Mittelstand Real Estate AG is repositioning the LogistikPark Leipzig to meet the dedicated demands of modern logistics and distribution companies. The building complex, which was constructed in 1994 and has a total rental space of around 179,000 m², is currently more than 90% let. Back in November 2019, DEMIRE succeeded in concluding a lease agreement with the Korean automotive supplier Mobis Parts Europe for 10,060 m² of logistics space. The site is located in the direct vicinity of the Leipzig trade fair and has excellent connections to local and long-distance transport. There are connections to the A9, A14 and A38 motorways. The LogistikPark also has its own railway siding for freight and long-distance traffic and is close to the airport.
