sporttotal.tv gmbh completes the development of its own AI-based camera system

- Development of sporttotal's own 180 camera system completed

Köln, 2. Juli 2020. The management of sporttotal.tv gmbh, a wholly owned subsidiary of SPORTTOTAL AG, reviewed the most recent test results today and concluded that the company's own newly developed camera system is ready to go live and will be installed in the first sport venues before the end of July. The centrepiece of the new 180 camera is artificial intelligence (AI) developed by Berlin-based sporttotal Development-Lab and geared specifically to live operation.

sporttotal.tv gmbh is now in a position to manage the value chain itself for the most part, thereby gaining greater independence from providers. In the medium term, this could reduce running costs in the low double-digit million range per year. It will also enable sport total.tv gmbh to roll out camera systems with a significantly lower investment budget in future. Consequently, sporttotal.tv gmbh will be able to bring a greater number of national and international clubs more quickly onto its own platform, which will increase its coverage. Additional revenue potential may be derived from using live streams for gambling platforms and from the camera system's white label production.
