SFC Energy with strongest first quarter of the past years in the consumer business - New EFOY fuel cell generation records high demand in the caravaning- and marine sector

Brunnthal/Munich, Germany, April 26, 2021 - SFC Energy AG (F3C:DE, ISIN: DE0007568578), a leading supplier of hydrogen and methanol fuel cells for stationary and mobile hybrid power solutions, announces the strongest first quarter of the past years in the consumer business. In the first quarter of 2021, the number of fuel cells delivered for caravaning and marine applications rose to 586 from 329 in the first quarter of 2020, representing a growth of about 78 percent. The development in Germany is particularly dynamic, followed by the Scandinavian and North American markets.

SFC Energy has its roots in the leisure market, is strongly positioned and has been a reliable partner for the continuously growing caravaning and leisure boat community for more than 15 years. In times of mobility restrictions, "holidays on the doorstep" in motorhomes are enjoying rapidly increasing demand. According to the Caravaning Industrie Verband (CIVD), new registrations of recreational vehicles grew by 12.6 percent. With 24,224 newly registered vehicles, this is a new record for the first three months of a year.^[1]

In vehicles and boats, the latest generation of EFOY fuel cells, winner of the European Innovation Award, provides reliable and environmentally friendly onboard power. For many customers, an onboard powerful and clean energy source is an important criterion, as the number of electrical devices such as refrigerators, televisions, laptops or e-bikes is constantly increasing. Thanks to the new EFOY 150 or the EFOY 80, no one has to sacrifice comfort during a camping or boating trip. At the same time, the fuel cell ensures more self-sufficiency from the conventional power grid.
