PRESS RELEASE
CHORUS Clean Energy AG acquires another wind park for Institutional customer
in Asset Management Segment
- Acquisition of a wind park in northern France with 11.5 MW
- The five turbines have been connected to the grid since February 2015
- Capacity of CHORUS' managed portfolio rises to over 540 megawatts
Neubiberg/Munich, April 12, 2017 - CHORUS Clean Energy AG ("CHORUS"),
specialized in investing and operating solar and wind park operation based
in Neubiberg near Munich, acquired the "Clementine" wind park in the French
region of Picardy on behalf of a renowned German pension fund. The wind park
consists of five Enercon E-82 turbines with a hub height of 78.3 meters and
a nominal capacity of 2.3 MW per unit. Its turbines have been connected to
the grid since February 2015. The wind park receives a guaranteed feed-in
tariff starting at 8.52 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) fed-in. The wind park
should produce more than 24,000 megawatt-hours of clean energy with every
full year of operation and thereby save the equivalent of nearly 15,000 tons
of CO2, which is one of the main causes of climate change.
Back in September 2016, this renowned pension fund commissioned CHORUS to
successively establish a portfolio of renewable energy parks and manage
these over the long term. The portfolio already consisted of four wind parks
with a total capacity of 62.1 MW, which now increases to a total capacity of
73.6 MW.
"We are pleased that we could further diversify the portfolio for our
institutional customer with the most recent acquisition. The turbines
purchased correspond to the needs of a pension fund, which aims to generate
stable returns with its investments without having to pass up attractive
yields. Over the course of the transaction, the total capacity of the
portfolio managed by CHORUS rose to more than 540 MW," explains Karsten
Mieth, Management Board member at CHORUS Clean Energy AG.
