Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG Announces Preliminary Fiscal Year 2021 Results
Asslar, February 16, 2022. According to preliminary numbers, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology AG ("Pfeiffer Vacuum") achieved record sales results for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2021, and a new all-time-high order backlog level.
Group sales for the fiscal year 2021 increased by 24.7 percent to EUR 771.4 million (fiscal year 2020: EUR 618.7 million), marking it the strongest annual group sales performance in Pfeiffer Vacuum's history. Throughout the fiscal year 2021, the sales development in the Semiconductor and Emerging Technologies market segment was especially dynamic with sales of EUR 393.2 million and a growth of 38.1 percent (fiscal year 2020: EUR 284.6 million). In addition, sales in the Analytics, Industry and R&D market segment grew considerably by 13.2 percent to EUR 378.2 million compared to the previous year (fiscal year 2020: EUR 334.1 million).
The preliminary fiscal year 2021 operating result (EBIT) amounted to EUR 93.1 million and increased by 105.5 percent compared to the previous year period (fiscal year 2020: EUR 45.3 million). The EBIT margin was at 12.1 percent (fiscal year 2020: 7.3 percent). The fiscal year 2021 operating results include a EUR 16 million non-cash impairment charge related to intangible assets.
The order intake in fiscal year 2021 was EUR 964.3 million, a record level for Pfeiffer Vacuum, and an increase of 52.7 percent from the previous year (fiscal year 2020: EUR 631.3 million). The increase is related to the strong demand in both market segments. The order backlog at the end of December 2021 was at a new high-level of EUR 316.2 million (December 31, 2020: EUR 123.3 million).
Pfeiffer Vacuum will announce detailed results for fiscal year 2021 on March 29, 2022.
