The capacity utilization rate for July reached 85.2 percent, and just like the number of passengers, was 1.4 percent lower than in the corresponding month of the previous year. airberlin recorded a passenger decline especially on the routes from and to Russia and with respect to the connections to Tel Aviv, Israel. In this difficult and competitive market environment, airberlin had reduced the available seat kilometers (ASK) by 1.1 percent to 5.939 billion. The revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) for July declined by 2.7 percent to 5.060 billion. During the first seven months of the year, the number of passengers transported remained at the level of the previous year (-0.1 percent), and reached a total of 17,987,745. The revenue passenger kilometers for the January to July period increased to 27.781 billion (Previous year: 27.696 billion), the available seat kilometers increased to 33.595 billion (Previous year: 32.630 billion).
