The operating result (EBIT) amounted to EUR 74.9 million in the third quarter of the current financial year as compared to EUR 115.6 million in the previous financial year's third quarter. Compared to the same quarter of the previous financial year, EBITDAR decreased from EUR 287.1 million to EUR 235.1 million. The financial result in the third quarter of 2014 amounted to EUR -24.5 million as compared to EUR -13.4 million in the third quarter of 2013. Pre-tax earnings in the third quarter of 2014 amounted to EUR 50.4 million after EUR 102.2 million in the same quarter of the previous financial year. The net result in the third quarter of 2014 amounted to EUR 49.9 million after EUR 101.0 million in the corresponding quarter in 2013. Earnings per share based on an average number of 116,800,508 shares outstanding in the third quarter of 2014 thus amounted to EUR 0.41 compared with EUR 0.87 in the third quarter of 2013 (undiluted) and EUR 0.15 compared with EUR 0.61 in the previous financial year's quarter (diluted). As of 30 September 2014, Air Berlin's total assets amounted to EUR 2,286.0 million (31 December 2013: EUR 1,885.5 million), its total equity amounted to EUR -110.6 million (31 December 2013: EUR -186.1 million) and its net debt amounted to EUR 730.1 million (31 December 2013: EUR 796.0 million).
