DGAP-Media / 11.01.2016 / 10:55 Press release Diamalt quarters Munich-Allach: - Pesch + Partner wins urban design competition - As a consequence ISARIA Wohnbau can now realise more than 600 apartments starting in 2017 11th January 2016 - ISARIA Wohnbau acquired the 70,000 m² site which was once the former home to the Diamalt plants, a traditional food manufacturer in Munich-Allach, back in 2011. Since then the project developer has worked on the vision to develop an urban living quarter that takes into account the historic character of the site. Together with the state capital of Munich, an important decision was able to be reached last year. On 15 December 2015, the jury of the urban and landscape planning competition voted for the design of the architectural firm pesch partner architekten stadtplaner, Dortmund/Stuttgart, with Helen Rohde (pp a|s, Dortmund). 2nd prize went to the team Trojan + Trojan (Darmstadt) with WGF Objekt Hirschmann - Lehner (Nuremberg) and the 3rd prize to planquadrat (Darmstadt) with Bierbaum.Aichele.Landschaftsarchitekten (Mainz/Frankfurt). The winning concept is based on the future development plan. The award-winning and clear planning concept with 3- to 6-storey buildings can be realised by ISARIA Wohnbau in up to ten construction stages. The district park within the planning area will act as a green island in conjunction with the previously restored historic boiler house. The two historical monuments 'Suppenwürze' and the workshop buildings form the quarters' identify-defining urban center through retail and catering spaces. A total of more than 600 apartments for different income groups, commercial sites and two daycare centres are expected to be built starting as of 2017 on the property of ISARIA Wohnbau. The new district is located in the immediate vicinity of numerous shopping facilities and the Allach urban train station, from which Munich's central station can be reached in 15 minutes' driving time. Thanks to a project volume of over EUR250 million, ISARIA Wohnbau is now realising one of Munich's largest newly developed quarters of the future.
