The operating result (EBIT) amounted to EUR -172.2 million in the first quarter of the current year as compared to EUR -159.9 million in the prior year's quarter. Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, EBITDAR increased from EUR -13.9 million to EUR 7.7 million. The financial result amounted to EUR -9.8 million as compared to EUR -52.3 million in the previous year. Pre-tax earnings in the first quarter of 2016 amounted to EUR -180.2 million after EUR -212.2 million in the same quarter of the previous year. The net result in the first quarter of 2016 amounted to EUR -182.3 million after EUR -210.1 million in the corresponding quarter in 2015. Earnings per share based on an average number of 116,800,508 ordinary shares outstanding in the first quarter of 2016 thus amounted to EUR -1.62 compared with EUR -1.85 in the first quarter of 2015 (undiluted and diluted). As of 31 March 2016, total assets amounted to EUR 1,540.4 million (31 December 2015: EUR 1,418.4 million), total equity amounted to EUR -971.3 million (31 December 2015: EUR -799.4 million) and net debt amounted to EUR 853.8 million (31 December 2015: EUR 877.9 million).
