P&I remains on growth path
- Revenue growth of 10.8 percent to EUR 117.5 million
- EBITDA increases by 14.7 percent to EUR 49.3 million
- Further improvement in EBITDA margin to 42 percent
In the 2015/2016 financial year, P&I Personal & Informatik AG (P&I)
generated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation
(EBITDA) of EUR 49.3 million (previous year: EUR 43.0 million) on the back
of revenue of EUR 117.5 million (previous year: EUR 106.0 million). This
year-on-year earnings growth of 14.7 percent resulted in an EBITDA margin
of 42.0 percent (previous year: 40.6 percent). Earnings before interest and
taxes (EBIT) amounted to EUR 46.2 million (previous year: EUR 40.8
million). The P&I Group employed 399 people on average (FTE).
"Recurring revenue" again rose to an above-average extent, increasing by
20.8 percent to EUR 64.3 million and accounting for 55 percent of P&I's
consolidated revenue. The "recurring services" revenue category encompasses
maintenance income, software as a service (SaaS) revenue and regular
services. Licence revenue developed in line with expectations, amounting to
EUR 29.4 Million (previous year: EUR 31.1 million). Consulting business
with Software launches increased by EUR 2.2 million year-on-year to EUR
21.2 Million (previous year: EUR 19.0 million). Other revenue amounted to
EUR 2.5 million (previous year: EUR 2.6 million).
P&I generated EUR 86.5 million (previous year: EUR 79.6 million) or 74
percent of its revenue in Germany. The Swiss division recorded revenue
growth of 28.1 percent, benefiting from the acquisition of Soreco HR AG
with effect from June 1, 2015. At EUR 18.1 million (previous year: EUR 14.1
million), Switzerland accounted for 15 percent of P&I's total revenue,
while Austria accounted for EUR 12 million or 10 percent (previous year:
EUR 10.8 million). Revenue generated outside Germany, Austria and
Switzerland amounted to EUR 0.9 million, corresponding to one percent of
consolidated revenue. This meant that total Revenue in the international
trading environment increased to EUR 31.0 million as
against the previous year (EUR 26.4 million).
As things stand, the Management Board is presenting the following outlook
for the 2016/2017 financial year:
- We expect the P&I Group to record organic revenue growth of around 5
percent. Increasing the proportion of recurring services and revenue in
total revenue remains a key element of P&I's strategic focus. We are
anticipating low double-digit growth in this area compared with the
previous year and are seeking to achieve a share of more than 60 percent of
total revenue. Reflecting our growing focus on SaaS business, we expect
licence revenue to be down slightly on the previous year. Based on the
expected revenue growth and assuming high cost efficiency, the Management
Board is setting an EBITDA target of EUR 53 million, which would mean a
further improvement in the EBITDA margin.
"P&I is a very special company. Our sustained success over the decades is
built on more than 40 years of tradition and experience accompanied by an
ability to identify future challenges at an early stage, embrace them and
respond to them with our unique and permanently evolving product
portfolio," summarises P&I CEO Vasilios Triadis.
