CHORUS Clean Energy AG acquires another solar park for institutional
customers and highlights asset management competence
- Existing solar park in Brandenburg with total capacity of 3.3 megawatts
rounds out portfolio for two pension funds
- CHORUS provides long-term operation of the plants
Neubiberg/Munich, July 7, 2016 - CHORUS Clean Energy AG ("CHORUS"), the
specialists in solar and wind park operation based in Neubiberg near
Munich, acquired a solar park with a nominal capacity of 3.3 megawatts (MW)
in Rüdersdorf (Brandenburg, Germany) for two German pension funds. The
seller is F&S solar concept GmbH based in Euskirchen. All of the
contractual parties agreed to keep any further points of their agreement
confidential.
The photovoltaic plants at "Solarpark Rüdersdorf II" were connected to the
grid back in August 2011 and have a state-backed feed-in tariff of 22.07
euro cents per kilowatt hour through the end of 2031. The amount of
electricity produced annually covers the needs of about 1,200 average two-
person households and saves the equivalent of 2,000 tons of environmentally
unfriendly CO2 per year.
With the most recent purchase, CHORUS has again underscored its competence
as an asset management service provider: In mid-October of 2015, CHORUS was
commissioned by two notable pension funds to build a comprehensive
portfolio of solar and wind parks that included their long-term operation.
These institutional customers provided equity capital of approximately EUR
25 million, which have now been fully invested. In addition to the solar
park in Brandenburg, the portfolio includes a solar park in Thuringia with
a total capacity of nearly 3 MW, solar parks in Italy's Umbria and Lazio
regions with a nominal capacity of about 2 MW and a wind park in Lower
Saxony with a total capacity of more than 18 MW. All of the plants are
connected to the grid.
"We are pleased that we could provide such a high-quality and balanced
portfolio within this short time frame. Being commissioned with all further
asset management services, including the operation of the plants, is
further evidence of the customers' trust in our abilities," says Holger
Götze, CEO of CHORUS Clean Energy AG.
