P&I: Successful start to financial year 2016/2017

In the first three months of the financial year (from April 1 to June 30,
2016), P&I Personal & Informatik AG (P&I) generated revenue of EUR 32.0
million (previous year: EUR 27.8 million) and EBIT of EUR 13.2 million
(previous year: EUR 11.2 million). EBITDA amounted to EUR 14.1 million
(previous year: EUR 12.0 million). This corresponds to a market-leading
EBITDA margin of 44.0 % (previous year: 43.0 %). The P&I Group reported a
DFVA/SG result of EUR 14.6 million (previous year: EUR 11.6 million). The
P&I Group employs 409 people on average (FTE).
"The result we have generated underlines again the success of our strategy
to focus all our efforts on the needs of our customers," explains Vasilios
Triadis, CEO of P&I. "At the same time, it confirms our product philosophy
of meeting increasing expectations of a hybrid solution including the cloud
and software on demand. Revenue and earnings correspond to our ambitious
expectations and underpin our planning for the whole financial year."
In the first three months, consolidated revenue increased by 14.8 % year-
on-year to EUR 32.0 million (previous year: EUR 27.8 million). Recurring
services again enjoyed above-average growth of 26.5 % to EUR 18.6 million
(previous year: EUR 14.7 million). Maintenance income, software as a
service (SaaS) income and recurring income under service agreements are
combined in this separate revenue category. P&I generated 58 % of its
revenue from recurring revenue business. Consulting services as a whole
grew compared with the previous year due to recurring services, whilst
traditional "non-recurring business" finished on par with the previous
year.
The main growth driver in recurring services is the new BIG DATA SaaS
business. There was also a pleasing development in maintenance business,
which was up on the comparable prior year period as expected due to licence
revenue recorded in the previous years.
The Management Board sees its original prognosis for the year as a whole
confirmed and further expects the Group to record organic growth of around
5 %. Increasing the proportion of recurring services and revenue in total
revenue remains a key element of P&I's strategic focus. The Management
Board anticipates low double-digit percentage growth in this area and is
seeking to achieve a share of more than 60 % of total revenue. On account
of the expected revenue growth, the P&I Group is seeking to significantly
increase its profitability while maintaining its cost efficiency, with an
EBITDA target in the region of EUR 53 million.
