Luftverkehrs KG will provide in total 38 A319 and A320 aircraft together with cockpit and cabin crew to Eurowings GmbH and Austrian Airlines AG. Eurowings GmbH and Austrian Airlines AG will use the aircraft in accordance with their fleet and route planning and be responsible for the commercial marketing of the destinations served by these aircraft. The responsibility for the operation of the aircraft, the planning of the cockpit and cabin crew as well as the maintenance of the aircraft remain with Air Berlin PLC & Co. Luftverkehrs KG. The initial term of the agreement is six years. The phasing-in commences in February 2017. The wet lease agreement is subject to clearance by the competent competition authorities.
